The Story Behind Esencias | Rooted in Nature, Guided by Intuition

It was born from stillness, a breath in the chaos, a flame lit in the dark. An anchor. A remembering.

I’m Dominique, the hands and heart behind Esencias.

Raised by the sea in Perth, Western Australia, I grew up with salt in my hair and sun on my skin. Nature shaped me. Its slowness taught me how to listen, how to be present with the earth, with the body, with the breath.

But it wasn’t until illness touched my life at 19 that I understood how sacred it is to feel good, really good, in your body and spirit.

Years later life cracked me open again.

Grief. Heartbreak. A deep sadness I could no longer outrun.

And through that rupture, I found ritual.

Simple, honest ritual.

Lighting a candle. Placing a crystal on my chest. Soaking in warm water. Breathing, deeply.

That was my turning point. A return to myself.

Esencias is rooted in that return.

To your essence. To your senses. To the sacred pause.

The Essence of Esencias

From Perth’s Shores to Sacred Spaces.

I’ve always been sensitive to scent, to energy, to the spaces we inhabit.

Synthetic fragrances overwhelmed me, so I began creating my own candles that were pure, intentional, energetically clean.

The first was poured into an antique crystal bowl. That single flame sparked what would become Esencias.

Launched in late 2020, during a time when the world was unraveling, this brand became a thread of connection. First to myself, then to a growing community of women seeking presence, peace and beauty in the everyday.
